Dedicated & Qualified

All of the Dance Teachers are suitably qualified in their given area to teach all students from sign-up right up to Examination level; see the latest News for more information on our new Teachers for the 2019 term.

Anita trained as a full time student at the Muriel Tweedy School of Dancing in Manchester, one of her teachers being Arlene Phillips of Strictly Come Dancing Fame.

After a brief spell of professional work, the school was opened in 1969 and had the grand total of 3 pupils in its first week!  the School has come a long way since 1969!

These courses and examinations are accredited by the QCA.

With nearly 50 years' experience of teaching Dance, we're confident we can help you learn, pass exams (if you want to) and star in our bi-annual Production!

If you have any queries in relation to our Teachers, their respective slillsets and qualifications, you can either look at the Teacher Bio page or just contact us and ask!

First-Rate Course Offerings

At The Anita Murray School of Dance, we teach Ballet and Cheer, to Tap and Commercial Jazz.

In the pipeline we have Latin American and Ballroom Lessons for both children and adults and Adult Ballet.  Parent and Toddler Ballet classes during the week days, please do enquire for further details.

The school offers classes for all ages in Ballet, Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, Modern & Tap ISTD syllabus.

We also offer acrobatic Arts lessons, from Age 5 upwards.  Dancers who train through Acrobatic Arts have better balance development, are stronger, more flexible and fearless!  It's a beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements.

Cheerleading is new to our School and is offered from age 6 upwards.  Cheerleading helps with Fitness levels, strength, coordination and team building through Cheer training , you will learn to do a range of different jumps and lifts and most importantly become part of a team.
